Buying at Auction
At Christiana Auction Gallery we offer an array of buying options to accommodate your bidding preferences:
At CAG we always encourage you to make an appointment to preview and inspect the items you plan to bid on. Previewing an item can be arranged any day, any time before the auction. You also can request a condition report and additional photos prior to bidding. You can also view our online catalog two weeks prior to each sale. There is a detailed description and photographs of each lot offered in the auction.
CAG conducts auctions live online through LiveAuctioneers and Invaluable. Both require you to register in advance to bid. If you would like more information on how to bid online, please contact a CAG representative.
If you cannot attend the auction you may leave an absentee bid. In this case, we will act as your agent and place the bid for you as if you were attending the auction in-person. In the event of identical absentee bids, the earliest received will take priority. Completed and signed bid forms must be received by CAG no later than 5pm (EST) on the evening of the auction. Please also be sure to send over a valid copy of a government issued ID. Please send completed forms to firstname.lastname@example.org
Another option is to bid live on the phone with one of our representatives. You participate live on the phone with one of our trained professionals who manages phone bids around the world during each auction. Telephone bid requests must be placed at least 24 hours prior to the auction. All telephone bidders are encouraged to leave an absentee bid or safety bid in the event a call should fail. Each registered phone bidder is bound by the terms and conditions of the sale. We have a limited amount of phone lines available for bidding; therefore submit your form early. This service is on a first come, first serve basis. Please also be sure to send over a valid copy of a government issued ID. Please send completed forms to email@example.com
